The white clown from the Drapeaux de France's own circus collection. The white clown is a character whose traditional costume is inspired by the Pierrot from the Commedia dell'arte (conical hat, ruff, and baggy pants). He often forms a duo with an August, the latter defeating by his malice and his antics all the wishes of the white clown who tries to keep a semblance of dignity. François Fratellini, Antonet and Pipo are among the biggest names in this category of clowns.
